Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution focuses on the concept of activity and the intergenerational relational plots that take shape in associative contexts. On the basis of the indications offered by the empirical survey conducted, it proposes the observation of what circulates, in terms of exchanges between generations in such networks: relational and professional skills, social relations, culture, solidarity are, in a nutshell, the elements that qualify these exchanges. The distinctive contribution of associations promoted by the elderly for the city of Milan can be seen in the multiple process of building social identity, which takes place through associations. In other words, the associations promoted by the elderly are configured as a multipurpose social subject, able to act and interact on several levels, from that of the experience of the single elder to the intersubjective one, from a territorially circumscribed and local level to a broader, sometimes national, from the intra-generational level to the inter-generational one, using different tools and resources.
