Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The show brings out the essential lines of the lost Andromeda tragedy by Euripides, of which only fragments remain, but which had great fortune in Greek antiquity and the Greek legacy of Piero di Cosimo's 1513 iconography. Latin and was reworked through painting also in Florence during the Renaissance. Four actors offer a scenic reading of the plot that can be reconstructed from fragments and indirect evidence. The adventurous story is accompanied by the sounds of curious musical instruments reconstructed on the model of the representations present in the same painting, on a probable Leonardo drawing. The instruments are by the master luthier Michele Sangineto and experimentally played live by the Ensemble Sangineto.
