Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] "While intimate relationships between people are built on exclusive choices, public relationships tend instead to include, and bring together, a colorful multiplicity of preferences. Compared to more private relationships - which tend towards friendship, sharing of life, personality - the different demands of guarantee, rule and less personalization seem to impose themselves on the public. What relationship therefore exists between the individual as public and the individual as private? of pain, for example, not being able to be completely identical for me and for a multitude of others? And what about words like justice and good, secularism and religion or virtue and hope? These questions arise in front of an easy observation: both in the public and in the private sector the same words are often used to indicate experiences that are undoubtedly close, but also considerably different, so as to leave in a to problematic uncertainty to which the metaphor of renunciation alludes.
