Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume reconstructs the cultural work of the Ambrosianeum Cultural Center, commissioned in Milan in 1948 by Cardinal Schuster and organized by Monsignor Ernesto Pisoni with the economic contribution of Enrico Falck. The intent was to establish a place of formation and confrontation for Catholic lay people when they had to take on new civil and political responsibilities in republican Italy. The work traces the events of the Center in relation to the events and social changes of Italian history after the Second World War until the 1990s.
