Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Sustainability in relation to the environment, despite numerous ambiguities, constitutes a focal point of discussion between different scientific disciplines, acting as a regulatory idea and epistemic crossroads also for pedagogical analysis, which frames the term in the horizon of human dignity. In fact, pedagogy has the task of critically investigating the notion of development, as an indispensable parameter of life, and of seeking new criteria to guide choices based on solidarity in the economic, technological and socio-environmental fields. The world is an important reference for reconstructing a development model made of meetings, values and dialogue, typical of educational culture. From this perspective, the contribution of education to the construction of more equitable and sustainable societies is considered essential. Education as a passion for the future is one of the fundamental levers through which to guide action, to make the person responsible and aware, free and creative, endowed with civic sense, capable of planning and planning.
