Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Taking an effective educational responsibility towards present and future generations leads to examine the perspective through which to consider the relationship between sustainability and education, that of sustainable education. In this perspective, the school-work alternation foreseen in Italy for all pupils of the last three years of secondary school, represents a fruitful opportunity to encourage active learning opportunities, with a view to sustainability. In a peculiar way in the national context, there are several secondary schools that have implemented alternating school-work paths using the Outdoor Education approach with the aim of giving continuity and pedagogical-didactic depth to educational experiences in natural environment, in line with what has already been implemented by several secondary schools in Italy and Europe.
