Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The last decades have been characterized by phenomena that have brought to light fundamental themes for the custody of the planet; green economy and sustainability are concepts that have taken on considerable popularity and attracted growing attention from public opinion and scientific research. Human development and the environment, values and political governance are closely connected. An ecological conscience founded on hope for the future of societies redefines progress which, to be authentic, must be 'integral'. Pedagogy in considering educational and training contexts supports the category of work, as an occasion in which the adult can express his creativity and generativity in the form of ideas, actions, products and organization as a space for the promotion of the humanum and of sustainability. For higher education, promoting "green" skills must mean supporting the development of professionalism that focuses on quality of life, respect for the environment in all its aspects for lasting well-being. Formation is at the service of the human and the environment as a tool to educate to a new fraternity.
