Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The troubled story of the taxation of extra profits in the energy sector has a new - potentially decisive - chapter. With order no. 21 of 2025, filed on 20 February 2025, the Constitutional Court has ordered a preliminary reference to the EU Court of Justice to assess the conformity with the Community legal system of the solidarity contribution payable by energy/oil companies, introduced by the 2023 Budget Law, in particular with regard to the subjective scope of application.
