Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] No one can say that postmodern culture is a culture of emptiness, on the contrary, it is a culture saturated with images; millions of images, words, slogans, advertisements and sounds, which together constitute the memory of postmodern man. This culture also shapes the sensations and feelings of contemporary man, immersed in images, advertisements and spontaneity. Consequently, this culture can be seen as a culture of illiteracy or at least a culture that promotes illiteracy among its members.
However, culture, understood as a process of autonomous transformation of life, is a continuous movement that never stops changing itself, in order to reach more advanced forms of existence and adaptation.
This book discusses the concepts of modernity and postmodernity and their relationship with life and culture, analyzing influential and fundamental models of contemporary theater.
