Aiuti per la crescita, senza protezionismo

Translated title of the contribution: [Autom. eng. transl.] Aid for growth, without protectionism

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

[Autom. eng. transl.] In Europe, the crisis was accompanied by a sharp increase in requests from companies to national authorities to obtain public support, with the related difficulties of preserving the normal functioning of the rules on competition and state aid. The EU has not been able to represent the lifeline for the productive sectors in difficulty, not having the tools of direct intervention, in support of the companies, as effective as the state ones. However, broadening the margins of state support has led to the still existing risk that the disparities between the financial resources that individual countries can bring into play will lead to economic divergence effects within Europe and not to convergence and cohesion.
