Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The intent of the following notes is to expand with new data what is currently known about the distribution in Northern Italy of cicadas (Rincoti Auchenorrinchi) alien of more or less recent introduction and in a phase of progressive diffusion. Acanalonia conica (Say) - Fulgoromorfo Acanaloniide of neartica origin, in Italy for now limited to the North. Species initially (2003) found in Veneto (D'Urso & Uliana, 2004), also known for Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Emilia (Nicoli Aldini et al., 2013). New data allow us to point out its finding in further Lombard locations (Pavia: Vigevano, Parco del Ticino, 2012; Brescia: Capriano del Colle, 2013) and to make known its incipient diffusion in Piedmont (Novara: Marano Ticino, 2012). Polyphagous species also observed on vines. Orientus ishidae Matsumura - Cicadomorph Cycadellid Deltocephalin of Asian origin, found around 1998-2002 in Lombardy (Milan; dint. Lecco; dint. Brescia) and known for northern Tuscany since 2004 (Guglielmino, 2005; Mazzoni, 2005; Griffo et al., 2012). Unpublished data in Lombardy refer to the provinces of Pavia (S. Maria della Versa, 2001; Vigevano, Parco del Ticino, 2010), Sondrio (Poggiridenti, 2005), Bergamo (Chiuduno, 2006) and Brescia (Capriano del Colle, 2013) , in Veneto the province of Verona (Bovolone, 2011), in Emilia the provinces of Reggio Emilia (Albinea: Broletto, 2000) and Piacenza (Piacenza loc. S. Lazzaro, 2013). It is a polyphagous species, often found in vineyards and identified as a possible vector of phytoplasmas (Gaffurri et al., 2011). Scaphoideus titanus Ball - Cicadellida Deltocefalino of neartica origin, present in Italy since the sixties of the last century, monofago su Vitis and vector of the golden flavescence of the vine. It is widespread in the north and along the peninsula (Nicoli Aldini, 2001; Jucker et al., 2009). A species that has long been known for other wine-growing areas in Lombardy, in the last five years it has also been observed in Val Camonica (Brescia: Sellero). Japananus hyalinus (Osborn) - Cicadellida Deltocefalino of probable Asian origin, found in Piedmont since 1984, is now widespread in Italy, not only in the north. Linked above all to the Acer genus (Arzone & Vidano, 1990), it is also common in vineyards. During monitoring in vineyards (1999-2001) it was found in Lombardy (Oltrepò pavese; Valtellina) and Emilia-Romagna (from Piacentino to Rimini). In Lombardy it is also present in Lomellina (Pavia: Vigevano, 2010), in the Cremonese area (Cremona loc. Boschetto, 2005; Gadesco Pieve Delmona, 2010) and in the Brescia area (Capriano del Colle, 2013); in Veneto in the Veronese area (Bovolone, 2011). It doesn't seem harmful. The original chorological data presented here briefly increases the knowledge on the distribution of the species under examination not only because they partly show recent extensions of the area, but also because they contribute, in the case of some less recent findings but hitherto unpublished, to the knowledge of possible stages of the progressive spread of these species in Italian territory. Finally, we must not forget that, in addition to the well-known case of S. titanus, also A. conica and O. ishidae have potentially some application relevance for the vine or other crops. The authors thank Gabriella Saini for communicating the data relating to A. conica in the Novara area and Francesco Sanna for the data regarding O. ishidae and Japananus hyalinus in the Verona area.
