Research output: Book/ReportBook

Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The gestures of discomfort and youth violence reported daily in the news show a growing emotional emergency that manifests itself in different areas and with different methods. The survey on a sample of 800 adolescents in our country, of which the volume reports the main results, focuses attention on the anger, empathy, fear of failure experienced in relationships with other people, empowerment and mattering (the feeling of 'counting') that this generation experiences in everyday life. Finally, an in-depth analysis of the operational implications of the research and some reflections on the specific characteristics of adolescents, always in a precarious balance between potential and fragility, are proposed. Having reached the eighth year of surveying the Youth Observatory of the Toniolo Institute on this age group, we have arrived at a turning point: Generation Z is exiting adolescence, while Generation Alpha is taking its first steps, with all its peculiarities.
