Adivinación y pronósticos entre los mayas actuales

[Autom. eng. transl.] Calendars are tools for measuring time, but above all they are instruments of connection between cosmic time and human time. They are doors that allow man to look at the rhythms of the cosmos and at the same time agree the compasses of human activities to the movements of the stars. This is also the case of the Mesoamerican calendars, which are still valid in many communities of this cultural region, either as a measure of time, or as an instrument of understanding the world. One of the most interesting aspects of the sacred calendar is precisely its use as an instrument of divination and knowledge, still in force in the Mayan communities of Guatemala. The article points to the analysis of this divinatory method, the result of a field work.
