[Autom. eng. transl.] Starting from an extensive examination of largely unpublished archival sources and of the historiography of Milan and Lombardy in the twentieth century, the volume presents the figure of Adele Bonolis (Milan, 14 August 1909 - 11 August 1980), of which it critically reconstructs the training, spirituality and the social works to which it gave life in the second half of the twentieth century. The path of Adele Bonolis, within the framework of Ambrosian Catholicism and the many welfare realities that have always characterized Milan, develops within the Catholic Action and at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, environments in which the foundation project matures of an institute of consecrated women in the world, the "Heralds of Love", to which Bonolis intended to give life as she began her teaching experience in the school. In the works she started starting from the 1950s, aimed at situations of particular fragility, especially women in the field of prostitution, prison and psychic discomfort, she adopts an original re-educational method, with great prominence in the political and cultural debate of the time. At the beginning of the 1960s, Bonolis finally founded the Amicizia Association, to support her initiatives and as a community of inner improvement for the members.
