Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The dynamics of the Virgilian quotations present in Seneca's work pursue a precise intent: the philosopher mentions passages above all of the Aeneid and rereads them in the light of his own philosophical convictions, or rather congenial stoic theories veiled by allegory. However, this procedure is never simplistic: Seneca always chooses passages in which Virgil employs words whose meaning can be rapidly resemantized in a stoic sense.
