Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essays present the intense research and teaching activity carried out by Ettore Passerin D'Entrèves during his four-year tenure at the Catholic University of Milan, at the Faculty of Political Science. The numerous contacts and initiatives undertaken in the field of historical research, in relation to the History of the Risorgimento, in particular the studies on Cavour and Mazzini, and the pioneering studies on the so-called "Catholic movement", in particular on the most relevant expressions and personalities of the liberal Catholicism. Particular attention is paid to the expectations, indications and initiatives linked to the opening and development in those years of the Second Vatican Council.
