Abstract
The article presents four excerpts from al-Suyuti's Encyclopedia of Qur'anic sciences. They deal respectively with:
- The Circumstances of Revelation (asbāb al-nuzūl);
- Clear and Allegorical Verses (al-muḥkam wa l-mutašābih);
- The Abrogating and the Abrogated (al-nāsiḫ wa l-mansūḫ);
- How to write a Qur'anic commentary.
